A new collection of glass sculpture by Abby Modell will be unveiled at a reception for the artist at AFA. The exhibition, entitled True Luxury, is inspired by Modell's passion for high fashion and her belief that its true core elements are derived from nature. This new collection of glass sculptures was created during the process of an exploration to discover the square root of haute couture in a stark and unsentimental way. After collapsing an entire landscape or garden to its base form and colors, Modell built the collection from the ground up using her strong contemporary architectural sensibilities.

Abby Modell has exhibited at SOFA: NYC 2011 and the Gansevoort Miami Beach during Art Basel Miami Beach 2010. It was also a featured installation at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach. Modell's contemporary art glass designs have been presented at numerous prestigious events including SOFA: NYC 2010, the 2010 Kips Bay Decorator Show House, the Architectural Digest Home Show, ArtHamptons International Art Fair 2009, the Hampton Designer Showhouse, Holiday House for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and the Designer Showhouse of Westchester. Abby Modell's glass was selected for exhibit in several juried art shows including; "New*Art" at The Armory Art Center, West Palm Beach, FL, "Transcendence - The Magic of Glass" at the Museum & Arts Center, Sequim, WA and "The Art of Applied Design" DHM Digital Gallery. Modell's designs were selected as Hot Spring Products in Interior Design Magazine's Spring Market Tabloid 2011 and have been featured in such publications as:Interior Design, Architectural Digest, Gotham, Hamptons, Cottages & Gardens, American Style, Haute Living and Downtown Magazine. Her upcoming exhibitions include Art Palm Beach 2013, Architectural Home Design Show 2013 and the Contemporary Art Fair NYC 2012. Her studio and showroom are located in New York City.
