"Siamese Connection 3012" Exhibition
The Invisible Dog
This event has ended.
Thai Artists Alliance announces the third installment of its multidisciplinary arts showcase, Siamese Connection: 3012. While many have become focused on the world ending in 2012, Thai artists will take a step into the future and imagine the world in another thousand years.
Siamese Connection: 3012 is dedicated to the forward looking optimism of Thai civilization–a civilization that has been around for thousands of years and intends to thrive for another millennium.
Siamese Connection was first held in May 2010 at the Dumbo Arts Center in Brooklyn. The event featured 25 emerging Thai talents of varying backgrounds and experience, showcasing 21 collaborative and individual pieces that encompassed painting, drawing, installation, dance performance, fashion, graphic design, motion graphics, typography, photography and film. Last year’s event Siamese Connection 2011: Rediscover at the Invisible Dog received an attendance of over 1,000 visitors throughout its four days which included honored guests, students, professionals, members of the local community, art enthusiasts and artists and designers. Participants from previous Siamese Connection events have gone on to enjoy heightened exposure and success in the U.S. and abroad as well as acquiring new connections and employment opportunities.
