This event has ended.

As we watched this year's curator, Chrissie Iles, go through the jurying process, we were impressed by her excitement over the work & her approach to selecting a wide variety of work as she visualized how the exhibition would look in the gallery space. Some is very huge, some very small, but all the artwork reinforces the reality that art being made today reflects a wide range of influence & inspiration. Despite the fact that her specializations include film, Minimalist and process-based art of the sixties and seventies, as well as film and video installation, Iles chose primarily painting and photography.

The plethora of interesting and exciting art being done in the world today has incited Viridian Artists to incorporate a Director's Choice PowerPoint presentation in conjunction with the physical art. Curated by the gallery's director, Vernita Nemec, the powerpoint presentation runs continually during the exhibition and on occasion has become an exhibit of actual art during the following season. The inclusion of these artists is a reflection of Viridian's desire to give greater exposure to the abundance of outstanding art being created today by lesser known artists.

The diversity of the art that was submitted is reflective not only of the culturally diverse nature of today's global art world, but the diversity of the art selected for inclusion in the exhibit is indicative of the curators' broad views of what art is in the 21st Century.
