In his ninth solo exhibition with the gallery, Charles Long continues his investigation of the formal aspects of sculpture, pushing the boundaries in unforeseen directions. Long explores the limitations of modern and contemporary art, seeing modernism's trajectory as unfinished and full of possibility. In his new sculptures, he confronts the static nature of the object, as peculiar arrangements suggest impending movement. The compositions imply a sense of order, but the internal logic remains hidden.
