"Home WHERE?" Exhibition

Jane Lombard Gallery

poster for "Home WHERE?" Exhibition

This event has ended.

These artists present various takes on ‘home’ or domesticity and rituals of daily life. Rakowitz’s Constellation Democracity houses an intimate installation of figures within a vintage Hoover vacuum while Fatmi substitutes push brooms for flag poles as a powerful metaphor for the G8. Lee Kit’s bed with pillows quoting poignant song lyrics nestles in the window while Anna Prvacki teaches us the proper way to set a table... blindfolded.

Characteristic symbols of daily life can be found in the main gallery where works stand in place of, and as testament to, one’s home. In the back gallery there is a continuation of relevant painting, photography and sculpture including new painting and audio constructions by Jacob Feige.

The show serves as a showcase for the Lombard Freid roster, with new works from Jacob Feige, Lee Kit and William Earl Kofmehl III as well as works from two new artists who recently joined the gallery - Ana Prvacki and Kemang Wa Lehulere. Additional works by Boetti and Stevenson are also included in the show.
