Marcia Clark "New Works"
Blue Mountain Gallery
This event has ended.
Marcia Clark paints in the city and in the arctic wilderness. Glacial terrains are icy reminders for her of our climatic history. In New York City, where she lives, her views are often painted from an aerial and panoramic perspective which displays the structure of the city. Luminous, loosely painted small studies on canvas or aluminum are a basis for her larger paintings which are often, in the words of Ken Johnson, “rendered with a deft touch on pieced together sheets of frosty Mylar”. These works, “pinned to the wall and extending irregularly in horizontal and vertical directions, have a panoramic expansiveness well suited to the vast and awesome subject matter.” (New York Times 4/19/02)
