Artist Nena Tahil is having a solo exhibit featuring her original silk paintings at the Pen and Brush. Ms. Tahil will also be launching her book, “Impressions and Expressions on Silk” at her show.
Ms. Tahil explores nature and human emotions in her paintings. About her book, Ms. Tahil says, “Through the expressions of images and words in my book, IMPRESSIONS AND EXPRESSIONS ON SILK, I hope to inspire readers to be impressed by all that life offers – experience with full passion and be moved not only by the mysteries and immensity of the cosmos but also by the singularity of the reflections in a dewdrop.”
Ms. Tahil’s works have been shown throughout New York, New Jersey and Florida in such venues as the Philippine Consulate in NYC, the Executive Mansion in Albany, the Rochester Museum of Contemporary Art, the Rotating Galleries in Hoboken and The Landing, Jacksonville, Florida. She was awarded First Place in a judged competition sponsored by the National Arts Program, and has been interviewed on by Janet Coleman, WBAI and Barry Farber\Sara Pentz, Cable Radio Network.
EXPRESSIONS ON SILK will be on display at the Pen and Brush, October 13 through 30, 2011. The selection of abstracts, landscapes, geometric, and figurative works were chosen to highlight the uniqueness of the medium and to bring to life the inspirational expressions in her book “Impressions and Expressions on Silk”.
