Adrian Landon Exhibition

The Art Students League of New York

poster for Adrian Landon Exhibition

This event has ended.

Among the many pieces that will be exhibited in Phyllis Harriman Mason gallery of the Art Students League, mainly welded steel works of art of the metal sculpture class will be a piece of a certain magnitude, a life-size metal horse sculpted by young and talented evolving New York artist Adrian Landon. The technique and material of the piece are unusual in the realm of contemporary sculpture as the shape of the horse is represented by hand hammered steel sheet metal of 16 gauge thickness, all while engaging a balance of positive and negative space. Pieces of such dimensions, exceeding 8 feet in height, are not common at the Art Students League as the limit in space dictates otherwise; the horse was conceived at the Vytlacil campus of the League, located 30 min outside the city in Sparkill, NY, and will have to be disassembled and reassembled to be able to make it in the gallery. This is Adrian's 3rd life-size horse, his first one is sold and his second is on display at the David and Erica Boyd Sculpture Garden of Leonia, New Jersey, and many more are yet to come.
