Paul Ricker "Markings, Bucks County"
Fischbach Gallery
This event has ended.
Returning to his ancestral heritage, Paul Rickert recently began painting the vernacular architecture and pastoral rural farmland of New Hope, Pennsylvania, in historic Bucks County. These iconic symbols of American working life through the early 20th Century are reminiscent in works of precisionist painters, such as Charles Sheeler. It’s fortunate when circumstances and places, often unexpected, provide artists material that refresh and renew their vision, and push their work to greater depths.
Paul Ricker’s most recent watercolors of farmhouses nestled in the tranquil fields of Bucks County, are luminous paintings imbued with subtle attenuated color tonalities that evoke deep spiritual origins and meaning. They are profoundly moving works and are remarkable contributions to the tradition of American landscape painting.
