Matvey was born in Minsk, Belarus and graduated from Minsk Art College. Since 1981, he participated in art exhibitions held in Belarus, Russia, USA, Belgium, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, France, and had more than 20 personal exhibitions all over the world. Mr. Basov is a member of the Belorussian Union of Artists since 1989. Matvey’s technique shows a dimensional view through the impasto technique which he has mastered through years of experience, and which he teaches to children in Belarus, free of charge.
