This event has ended.

The Painting Center presents Personal Territories, an exhibition of new work by Ryan Cobourn. The paintings in the exhibition focus on three themes that have occupied him for several years: the city, the distant landscape, and the lush garden. This collection of new paintings explore how each theme is distinctly different, exploring emotional ranges of a wildly divergent temperament, while simultaneously unifying them through the language of paint.

Ryan Cobourn received a BFA from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and an MFA from Indiana
University. In 2009, The Wolf Kahn and Emily Mason Foundation awarded him a grant for his curatorial effort “Twenty-Five Painters Under Thirty-Five.” He is also the recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant. He is currently living and working in Brooklyn, New York. His work can be seen online at www.ryancobourn.com.
