This event has ended.

Meulensteen will present Oliver Herring: Areas for Action, the artist's first gallery exhibition devoted entirely to the performative aspects of his practice. Each day will feature a different performance that runs continuously through the gallery's hours. Each will be documented and purposed in to new artworks installed for the following day. All are open to the public and audience interaction is encouraged.

Examples include Glitter (October 21), in which two participants will interact with a large amount of holographic glitter, vegetable oil and vaseline; and Cut out Female A (October 13), in which a female participant, whose entire body was photographed in advance, will have the printed images will be applied directly onto her nude body. In lieu of an opening reception the exhibition will launch during normal gallery hours with Color Spit Solo, in which a participant will spit plumes of food coloring close to the windows of the gallery. The exhibition will feature a special closing party and performance on November 4. A complete schedule of events is available on Meulensteen.com
