This event has ended.

Significant Surfaces: Selections from the ICP Class of 2010 is about the manifold ways in which surfaces - mainly photographs and screens but also skin, paper, mirrors, walls – signify: they carry visual information which is immediately accessible, as well as deeper levels of meaning which depend on context and history. Curated by Marina Berio, Chair of the General Studies in Photography Program, with the assistance of Phebe Pierson, candidate for a BA degree and for a Museum Studies Certificate from Connecticut College, the exhibition shows young artists using surfaces to parse their closest personal relationships by mining the imperfect layerings of memory or the simultaneously distant and intimate spaces of home, correspondence and the web.
