The Michael Ingbar Gallery presents the luminous steel work of Miya Ando.
A direct descendent of Bizen sword maker Ando Yoshiro Masakatsu, Miya Ando utilizes immensely physical metal finishing techniques such as grinding, polishing and burnishing in the creation of her ethereal steel-scapes. The work conveys the strength and permanence of her canvas of choice, while at the same time offering a meditative environment within which the viewer can reflect.
