This event has ended.

In "pietrapiana paintings" Cristián Pietrapiana gives the viewer an intímate look at figures in isolation. In these works Pietrapiana engages the viewer through the forceful close-up of the human figure against a tender landscape. His use of warm colors alongside the imaginative mystery of segmented bodies brings one to embrace the human figure rather than to retreat.

Pietrapiana, born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, grew up around his grandfather, local painter J. Roggerone, who taught him the basics. He studied Social Communication in Del Salvador University, Buenos Aires and in the late 1980s decided to dedicate himself to painting. Pietrapiana worked and assisted master painters in Buenos Aires and Milan, finally settling in New York City in the early 90s.
