This event has ended.

BWAC’s 2009 Fall Group Art Show, The Words of Color, is a narrative show. It contains all medium of art, performance, word and the imagination of 250 artists. Most artists will have a written narrative as well as their art work as part of their presentation. Some of the narratives are integrated into the work. The narratives may be a statement, poem, or book, one word or one page. Those of us who have ever wondered what goes on inside the heads of artists we have admired will get an opportunity to discover sources of inspiration, descriptions of techniques or entertaining works of fiction.

The exhibit presents over 1000 new works in BWAC’s cavernous 25,000 square foot indoor gallery. Almost 1/3 of the space is devoted to “Further to the Edge”, a show within a show, where strict academic display methods have been abandoned. Artists have hung their work in radical and exciting ways.

The work of four very talented artists are featured in The Words of Color: avant-garde constructions by Carlo Grassini, where every day and found objects are transformed with the use of paint, wood and adhesives; wonderful urban landscapes by painter Cynthia Chatman, an installation of The Colors of Venice and Burano by digital photographer Steven (Fritz) Weiss, and Anita Giraldo’s See My Voice, a series of speech animated photographs.
