A few years ago The New York City deputy mayor wanted to install strict rules on "Street Photography" and filming, this included time limits that Photographers and filmmakers had on street corners, and laws concerning "free permits" that required a 1 million dollar insurance policy to get one. This outraged many artists, and a petition was made, artist such as Patti Smith has signed the petition, the artist won.
