Wow, I just worked for this woman at another one of her (apparently) numerous "openings", and my first impressions were right: anyone who has to make a point of stating (as in her biography regarding Japanese art) that she paints every day has no idea that this is an unstated given for ANY true artist; she is obviously not one.
Tsarev presents numerous one-off, splotchy caricatures of foreign cultures, none of which display introspection, contemplation, emotion or technique. I want to see YOU, something TRUE, Mrs. Tsarev. It is evident that she is self-taught and has not sold any pieces: why would anyone buy a piece from a rich dilettante who treats art as a hobby, who lacks the humility to start at the beginning, to learn from a teacher, to realize that being an artist involves the humility, dedication and vulnerability of one's ENTIRE being, not just one's bank account and fragile, transparent, society image?
Where should she begin? Try not signing any of your "works" for ten years, especially seeing that Tsarev's current signature is massive and unavoidable, even while attempting its antithesis: a Japanese calligraphy painting. Roll over, Buddha...!
