This event has ended.

The talented artists showcased in this exhibition explore the surreal landscape present within one’s mind. Dreamlike mindscapes emerge when they deconstruct and reassemble imagery to evoke new impressions. Kathy Smith, Stephen X. Arthur and Robin Bartholick - all three artists communicate thru illusory works that focus on the processes of perception, cognition and how they relate through time. The subconscious moves to the forefront in Smith’s work with her use of non-linear narratives and an abundance of bright colors. Arthur’s animation also investigates the impressions found deep within one’s mind by reworking some of Jack Shadbolt’s most famous works into foreboding permutations. Even Bartholick’s digital prints aim to make the viewer question the truth in the image in front of him as he blends elements from multiple photographs into his evocative yet elegantly composed pieces.
