Koichiro Kurita "Perceiving"
SEPIA International | The Alkazi Collection
This event has ended.
"Perceiving," a series of new landscape photographs by Koichiro Kurita invites the viewer into a meditative dialogue between nature and self. Inspired by his study of perceptual psychology as a university student in Japan, the "Perceiving" series utilizes a large format camera as a roving eye, creating sequences of views that are then assembled to form single, multi-paned images. The resulting photographs are large hand-coated platinum prints carefully printed on handmade Japanese Gampi vellum. Prints from his earlier series entitled Chi-Sui-Ki will also be included in the exhibition.

Reviews
I was lucky enough to hear Kurita give a lecture at Basho Gallery in Philadelphia last year. His work is fantastic and I highly recommend seeing this exhibit.
