Brian Ulrich "Thrift and Dark Stores"
Julie Saul Gallery
This event has ended.
The second exhibition with photographer Brian Ulrich is a continuation of his epic project "Copia," begun not long after 9/11 when President George W. Bush admonished the American people to shop. Ulrich has followed American consumers from frantic malls to thrift shops and the final chapter: "Ghost Boxes" or empty big box stores. In the "Thrift" images Ulrich observes the piles of discarded goods, from running shoes to computers which have accumulated in the last stop repositories, as well as the people who run and shop at these enterprises.
