This event has ended.

Giant painted petals appear to radiate with fragrant and colored light. Like a baited floral lure, each ephemeral bloom pulls the viewer close until they are enveloped by its sugary fluid trap. A blush-pink wild rose unfolds from tender bud, and joins with a snow-white translucent peony and red ruffled tulip to present a pollen-laden, monumental bouquet that is fit for the gods.

Barger's experiences as an attentive and patient beekeeper supplied sweet inspiration for her epic scale botanical paintings. "I came to learn that honeybees can sense minute electrical charges that emanate from deep within florescent plants, and they are therefore capable of detecting whether or not an individual blossom contains nectar. Imagining the sensory architecture of an open flower from the perspective and scale of a honeybee, I transformed each delicate bloom into a luscious amphitheater of resonating color, aroma, and nectar."
