"Dialogue 23" Exhibition
The Museum at FIT
This event has ended.
While The Fashion Institute of Technology may be better known for fashion than for Fine Art, this group of emerging international artists demonstrate that artists from FIT will certainly suggest some of the exciting new directions contemporary art will be taking in the future. Having been guided by an esteemed and established faculty of working artists, these young talents exhibit large-scale work in a wide variety of mediums and materials that demonstrates the dramatically personalized education they have received.
The cultural diversity and range in ages of the artists makes for an exciting collection of works. Techniques including sewing, welding, casting, and materials from the more traditional oil and acrylic to those for industrial use, are all represented. Whether the work is surreal, representational, political, abstract, minimal, conceptual or some unique unnamable combination of styles and influences, a seriousness of purpose is evident in each artist’s work. Their fresh ideas and unique visions truly make these twenty-three newest graduates of FIT, emerging artists to keep your eyes on.
The exhibit will be held in The Great Hall in D Building, which is located at 7th Avenue at 27th Street in New York City.
