This show will feature a selection of new unique and editioned works on paper that the artists have created with Pace Editions print shops. Each of these three artists approaches printmaking with a hands-on, visceral approach that reflects their pursuit of a unique and naturally occurring abstract visual language. Pat Steir makes gestural monoprints that use waterfalls as a jumping-off point. Ingrid Calame traced the stains on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as part of her complex vocabulary, from which she creates a suite of etchings. Katia Santibañez’s finely detailed hand-colored etchings use patterns found in nature.
