Sehnsucht Zwei is Martin Borowski's third exhibition at Stellan Holm Gallery. Prevalent in much of Borowski's earlier works, architecture is once again the basis of these paintings. In this group of eleven new paintings, Borowski turns his attention towards architecture's exterior. He emphasizes elements of the outdoors, such as natural light, trees and foliage, as well as the distant horizon line. While formulating these wide-open spaces, Borowski examines, from a distance, the presence of the natural and the artificial. Questioning the distinction, if any, between the two, Borowski's work represents human cultivation found in the most common of places.
