Alan Klotz Gallery proudly presents, The Sadness of Men, A major, 50 year, retrospective exhibition of the work of photographer Philip Perkis. The exhibition coincides with the publication of a major monograph on Mr Perkis' work, The Sadness of Men, with 125 duotone reproductions, and an introduction by the critic, Max Kozloff. The book is published by Quantuck LanePress, New York. Mr Perkis is one of the most widely respected American photographers, yet his work is little known outside of the demi-monde of the art world.The book, and this exhibition will no doubt change that, and he will take his rightful place in the pantheon of late 20th century photographers.
