This one-on-one with Beatriz Milhazes, best known for her bright and colorful paintings, collages, and prints, is the first of a series of AFA ArtTalks. Milhazes currently lives and works in Rio de Janeiro, and represented Brazil at the 50th Venice Biennale (2003.) Her work, which draws from a wide range of European and Brazilian cultural and artistic influences, can be seen at the James Cohan Gallery. (http://www.nyartbeat.com/event/2008/5F03)
