This event has ended.

Fusing the mediums of painting and sculpture resulting in what the artists aptly terms ‘objects,’ referring to his objects as experiments in the Hegelian synthesis of opposites, each is an example of controlled chaos. Like an alchemist Harrington uses the inherent chemical reactions in his pigments, polymers, and resins to skillfully manipulate and navigate their paths, creating dynamic undulating terrains. The surfaces of each swirl, drip, and drift, juxtaposing varying geometric formations. Moreover, his newest works combine the bold minimalism of the 20th century with the obsessive detail of the Flemish renaissance, operating on both levels.

Christopher Harrington is an Associate Professor in the Department of Fine Arts at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
