This event has ended.

Re-Mix is an opportunity to see a range of works in fresh context. The gallery celebrated its ten-year anniversary in 2008. In the ten years the program has grown, and this past season works of several new artists were introduced, among them Australian artist Gary Carsley and Houston-based William Betts, both of whom had recent solo exhibitions. Galleries are organic and with each voice added or absent, the program is changed and reinvigorated. Re-Mix is an exploration of the conceptual impact of shifting artistic relationships.

Notably, Gary Carsley’s Central Park (The Ramble) has been installed with a population of Venske & Spänle’s white marble Smurfs. Carsley’s digitally altered photographs explore our relationship to designated parklands and our acceptance of these designed spaces as nature. For this month, the organic creature-like sculptures of Venske & Spänle will inhabit Carsley’s altered topography.
