This event has ended.

The work of Brooklyn-based artist Anders Bergstrom shows clearly that he has walked the winding path of his life with eyes wide open. Crushed aluminum cans, stacks of old newspapers, crumpled brown paper bags, and broken baby strollers are all striking visuals that he has plucked from his surroundings and later reformed in his trademark aesthetic. The stories that Bergstrom tells through his work go beyond these found objects however, and extend to their past owners, or rather, the lack there of. It’s the absence of the reader that gives the stack of newspapers such depth. It is the memory of the once bouncing baby that offers an ambiguous backstory to the stroller now left in tatters and rust.

Prints and Recent Work offers a wonderful cross section of Bergstrom’s past 5 years, offering prints, paintings on paper, and sculpture.
