Massimo Audiello

Gallery in The Chelsea 26th area

Massimo Audiello began his activity in the art world as the assistant to critic Diego Cortez during the making of the show "New York, New Wave" at PS1 in 1981.
Through Diego Cortez Massimo Audiello had the opportunity to work with a generation of artists including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Harring, Kenny Sharf, Robert Mapplethorpe, William Burroughs, Fred Breatway and many other important figures of the 80's New York art scene.
In 1985 he opened his first gallery in the East Village and in 1987, but later moved the space to Greene street in Soho, which he closed in 1991.
Then in 1998 Massimo Audiello reopened his current gallery in Chelsea, where he began once again to promote young emerging artists in the style that had always been his trade mark.
