PEP is the joint venture of Joe Weiner and Tricia Wimmer. Conceived in 2006 as an online art gallery meant to showcase the works of emerging and under-represented artists, the duo also began hosting art openings in a small Brooklyn apartment in Clinton Hill. One year later, PEP was out of control and began to seek a more traditional, public exhibition space. In May 2007, PEP opened its doors on Washington Ave just south of the Brooklyn Navy Yard in the Wallabout section of Brooklyn. Now PEP is not only representing some of Brooklyn’s finest artists but also helping to revitalize a historically rich neighborhood once forgotten.
