Esopus Space

Cultural Center in The Villages area

The Esopus Foundation Ltd., publisher of the semi-annual arts magazine Esopus, has moved from its 250-square-foot office of six years into a substantially larger space in the same Greenwich Village building. The new location not only includes much-needed larger office and storage spaces, it also features a 500-square-foot area that will be used for both exhibitions and events. The Foundation was able to renovate and lease the space after receiving a generous two-year capacity-building grant from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Arts.

Exhibitions in Esopus Space will feature work from Esopus contributors as well as from both emerging and established figures in the contemporary art world in New York City and beyond. The schedule will include one-person exhibitions and group shows (including those conceived by guest curators). The gallery area, which seats approximately 50 people, will also host readings, small-scale musical and theatrical performances, panel discussions and lectures, and screenings of film and video.
