Gallery in The Lower East Side area

LMAKprojects was founded by Louky Keijsers Koning in 2005. The gallery’s interest lies in dedication to support the development of artists’ careers and to broaden the span of their visual domain. LMAKprojects is known for its exhibitions with international allure, focusing on inter-disciplinary practices, creating interactive situations and collaborative ventures.

LMAKprojects started its operation with two spaces: one in Chelsea (main gallery space) and one in Williamsburg (project space) which focused on events like lectures, performances and screenings. The exchange allowed for a very vivid atmosphere and a hybrid program that brought artists and collectors together.

In October of 2008 LMAKprojects relocated their Chelsea-space to the new gallery area in the Lower East Side (LES). The new ground floor space features two levels with the first floor being solely dedicated to exhibitions, as downstairs allows for office and private viewing. The new location allows for a focused program and an accessible neighborhood to welcome collectors.

Bart Keijsers Koning became a co-owner of the gallery in 2009.

LMAKprojects presents works in all media, ranging from drawing, painting, photography, video/film and sculpture by artists from all over the world.
