Albion, New York opened in May 2008 and is run by David A. Ross, formerly Director of ICA Boston, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the SFMOMA. Albion, founded by Michael Hue-Williams, has a major global program that represents leading international artists including those from emerging markets. It deals in the primary market and its exhibitions provide a world-wide view of social and cultural issues. Albion also leads the trend of holding exhibitions of design art and representing designers. Recent design exhibitions at Albion, London include David Adjaye, the Campana Brothers and the forthcoming Atelier van Lieshout show.

Albion works with innovative artists, many of whom create large-scale installation pieces that can only be realised outside the gallery’s walls. Recent collaborations with museums on projects of this nature have included The Guggenheim, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Tate and Centre Pompidou.

David A. Ross began his career in 1971 when he was named the world’s first Curator of Video Art at the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, New York. He has organized over 100 exhibitions of 20th century art, is widely published, and has lectured at museums and universities around the world.
