Dorsky Gallery Curatorial Programs (DGCP)
Gallery in The Queens area
Dorsky Gallery Curatorial Programs not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting contemporary visual arts to a broad public audience. Our programs of independently-curated exhibitions, publications, curator's talks, symposia, and art donations seek to illuminate and deepen the public’s understanding and appreciation of contemporary art as well as to foster dialogue about contemporary art. With each exhibition, we produce and distribute an illustrated brochure to nearly 4,000 members of our audience: artists, art historians, critics, and arts-related institutions worldwide. The illustrated brochures feature a 2,000-2,500-word essay by the curator detailing the intellectual underpinnings of the exhibition. Our efforts focus on contextualization and interpretation of issues in contemporary art encompassing work both world-wide and from America, and from emerging as well as long-established artists. Although most exhibitions are organized around an articulated theme, some focus on artists working in a particular medium and others explore lesser-known aspects of a single artist’s work.
