Secret Project Robot is a group of friends who produce, observe and interact with art as a way of life. It is an art studio, performance, and installation centered experimental space that believes in maintaining an environment which functions outside the usual commercial sphere-where artists are free to explore, create, and develop styles that aren't contingent upon their ability to sell.It is a place where art is taken seriously in sofar as it helps create a world out side of bureaucracy and the mundane and hopefully inspires people to realize that culture can be interpretted through a multiplicity of simaltaneously correct and changing view points.Secret Project Robot believes it is more important to manipulate contingency than fall vicitim to the prescribed apathy of postmodernism. And in this, chooses to exploit material culture and capitialism as the artistic tools of our period- focusing on the possibility of complicity in current and future artistic production. In a period of the so called global village Secret Project Robot believes it is more important than ever to have a strong local and diverse underground.
