This event has ended.

“I’m really interested in all these new discoveries with space and particle physics; how they’ve actually discovered that there’s a strong likelihood that there are other dimensions all existing simultaneously…”

Jen Shepard is an artist who sees another reality in the mundane. This “reality” is one from her imagination, a quiet opera with theme songs, color and a nonchalant sense of gesture and composition.

”Moon Beams and Fever Dreams” is a cocktail of thoughts inspired by the Siouxsie and the Banshees song - “Into the Light” and a lyric from a Frank Sinatra song.

Jen’s paintings evoke memories from childhood. The deliberate wonkiness and unpredictable color schemes set the tone for viewers to be led into her flow of endless day dreaming. Repeating motifs of rainbows , wiggles , rain drops create a “psychic landscape” as an explanation of the universe and unexplainable phenomena.

Jen Shepard is a painter, sculptor and installation artist originally from East Texas now based in Brooklyn / Queens .
