Head On highlights sculptures that explore depictions of the human face over the course of nearly a century. Working across styles and schools, the artists on view have challenged the traditional bounds of representation. Curator Dieter Schwarz describes these works as “building and destroying, caressing and attacking the figure, transgressing formal conventions and inventing faces not seen yet.”
