Almine Rech New York presents In Its Daybreak, Rising a solo exhibition by Sarah Cunningham. This will be Cunningham’s first solo exhibition with the gallery and the first in the United States.

Sarah Cunningham (b.1993, UK) works depict psychological landscapes with poetic and intuitive approaches.Her gestural paintings blend abstraction and figuration, landscape and object whilst depicting a wide range of techniques. Invigorating this dialogue is a desire or an interest in a relationship with the natural world, its flora and fauna and mysteries. Collective memories of landscapes, personal encounters and dreams inform her paintings. There is an underlying sensitivity towards landscape structures and botanical life, a fragmented interplay of light, earth, sky and water that channels through her work. Sarah was part of exhibition Salon de Peinture at Almine Rech New York in 2021.
