“Van Der Plas Gallery is excited to work again with artists from the Living Museum. In my four decades exhibiting artists in NY, I rarely encountered such an amazing body of work. What defines this collection best, is not only the high quality of craftsmanship but its authenticity–so missing from much of the output from even our most acclaimed art institutions. It comes from the sphere of unfettered creativity, from the non-historic domain of these privileged artists; from the place where the angels fly. The Living Museum, located at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center, has been in operation since 1983, providing an art asylum for its members, who have consistently turned out the most interesting and provocative creations. We, at Van Der Plas Gallery, have been lucky to be cooperating for the last 20 years with this vibrant community of artists with the most beautiful minds.” – Adriaan Van Der Plas.
