LAUNCH F18 presents New York based artist, Lindsey Lou Howard in their debut New York solo exhibition, Recipe For Disaster. We are thrilled to feature a selection of recent ceramic works, highlighting Howard’s ambitious and energized ceramic sculptures.

Within this highly motivated new exhibition, Howard constructs an overwhelming presentation of work, demonstrating the artist’s ability to amass a dialogue from an incredible multitude of sculptural references. In a brilliant, and calculated effort to capture contemporary consumerism, Howard focuses on a combination of foods, creating an amalgamation of the wildest form of modern-day foraging. In this world, Howard’s objects are a collision of ideas, all clamoring to be the focal point of a playful exclamation.

Of the six new works by the artist, each piece contributes a unique and individualized idea to the exhibition. Often in dialogue with contemporary perspectives on materialism and consumption, Howard utilizes the abundance of her medium to embrace the overzealous sense of desire, and quest for material goods. Howard doesn’t just capture these motifs in clay but pushes that emotional effect right to the forefront of her work.

Known for her technical and highly detailed sculptural works, Recipe for Disaster boldly looks at our culture of consumerism and captures this intensity by how these works come together both collectively and individually. In her unique style, Howard communicates with history, both to the past, present and future, showcasing a viewpoint of our current moment in time.
