This event has ended.

Callicoon Fine Arts presents its last exhibition, All Suffering Soon to End!, featuring works by artists associated with the gallery. Running from June 17 to July 17, this group exhibition marks 12 years of the gallery’s history with works by Etel Adnan, Nicholas Buffon, A.K. Burns, Fia Backström, Harry Dodge, Bracha Ettinger, Glen Fogel, Hervé Guibert, James Hoff, Kahlil Robert Irving, Colter Jacobsen, Thomas Kovachevich, Benjamin Kress, Ulrike Müller, Luther Price, Lee Relvas, and Jason Simon.

The gallery opened in May of 2009 with an exhibition of the same title, in the Delaware River region of the Catskills above a pizza restaurant in the town of Callicoon, NY. In 2011, the gallery moved to a small ground floor space in the Lower East Side, first on Forsythe Street, and then around the corner to its current, larger location at 49 Delancey Street, in 2014.

Callicoon Fine Arts has been marked by an artist-driven program, often signaled by readings, music and performance in conjunction with the exhibitions. Along with the many sister spaces that defined a generation of the neighborhood’s galleries and art, and working in partnership with Nightboat Books since its inception, the gallery also introduced a number of international voices to New York audiences.

The gallery would like to thank the many artists who have contributed their work and camaraderie, and to express its gratitude to the many visitors, collectors, curators and critics who have supported the space over the years.
