Selenas Mountain presents Dangerous Narratives, a solo exhibition by Brooklyn-based video artist Cody Healey-Conelly. The artist’s first New York solo exhibition will consist of a single, large-scale, site-specific video installation. Conelly’s immersive artwork is comprised of a clutter of objects symbolic of American excess (assault weapons, iPhones, fast food takeout containers, and other cultural ephemera). The artist’s unique method of projection mapping overlays dynamic video content onto a heap of foamcore objects. The visceral experience of viewing this piece taps into the collective unconscious of fear, paranoia, and uncertainty felt over the past year of living through a pandemic in the United States.
