This event has ended.

Gallery Henoch presents OCEANIS, a solo exhibition of eight paintings by Todd Kenyon.

Todd Kenyon’s paintings distill coastlines into essential elements of sky, sea, surf, and sand, conveyed through a contemporary lens. Everywhere among the crashing breakers and foaming waves are sweeps of blue, white and sandy hues, evoking color field painting. Kenyon tends to work large, imparting a mesmeric quality to his paintings. Reduced to their purest elements, his shorelines offer a modern counterpoint to the iconic maritime paintings of the past.

Kenyon has sought out nature in travels spanning from Montauk to Hawaii. Having grown up in New Jersey, he gained an affinity for the tides off the East Coast, including those along Long Island. Much of the last year was spent studying the colors of the Pacific Ocean from his studio in Laguna Beach, CA where he has lived for over 20 years.

OCEANIS will include a work from Todd Kenyon’s Ocean Series, an installation of smaller circular canvases which, taken as a whole, portray a completed image of the sea.
