Planthouse presents Intersections 2020 by David Barthold, an outdoor print installation on view on the gallery’s terrace.

Intersections 2020 is a collage of portraits by David Barthold printed and posted in response to events in 2020, notably the murder of George Floyd, the passing of John Lewis and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Rep. Alexandria Ocaso Cortez’s rebuke of Rep.Ted Yoho’s verbal attack.

A native New Yorker, David Barthold lives in Brooklyn and teaches at Union Square Academy HS in Manhattan, the Manhattan Graphic Center and the Center for Contemporary Printmaking. After graduating from the Studio Art program at Oberlin College, Barthold studied with Stanley William Hayter in Paris and worked as an assistant printer at Styria Studio on Broome Street. His practice centers on printmaking and extends into painting, sculpture, installation and illustration, with work currently appearing in Evergreen Review and Sojourner Magazine. Barthold exhibits annually at the EAB print fair with Overpass Projects. His work is held in various institutional and private collections.
