This event has ended.

David Zwirner presents Doppelgänger, a video installation by Stan Douglas that debuted at the 2019 Venice Biennale, May You Live in Interesting Times. This ambitious video installation will be exhibited for the first time in the United States and will concurrently be on view at Victoria Miro, London, opening on January 31.

On the occasion of Doppelgänger’s US premiere, the artist will discuss the work at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum on Tuesday, January 21. This new video installation conjures Douglas’s long-standing interests in doubling, alternate histories, and technologies of seeing, through the lens of quantum entanglement and science fiction. The artist will unpack these themes and place Doppelgänger in the context of his nearly three decades of work in still and moving images.
