Third Project Curatorial - Victoria Hristoff & Gabriella Moreno

Historically paradise has functioned as a doctrine, as a reward, a coveted end-point, a place. However, this location holds no physical space. One cannot arrive at paradise, one can only see their own physical context and desire an idealized elsewhere. cloud 9 is a mixed media exhibition poking holes at the definition of paradise and exploring the nuanced projections of this concept. Featuring works by VCS alumni Julia Garcia, Kate Jones, Lichi Wo, and Lisa Saeboe. Curated by The Third Project, a Brooklyn based curatorial project focused on challenging conventional narratives in the contemporary art market. As a platform for emerging artists, we generate a unique space for conversation while rewriting typical curatorial practices.
