Urs Fischer “Shop Takeover”

This November, Urs Fischer will take over the Gagosian Shop in New York to celebrate the release of Urs Fischer: Paintings 1998–2017. Published by Kiito-San, this new three-volume monograph includes every painting produced by the artist from the beginning of his career through 2017.

Three other Fischer publications will also be available during the takeover. Sculptures 2013–2018 presents over one hundred of the artist’s sculptural works; Bandaids documents two 2018 series of silkscreened paintings based on a collection of drawings he made using an iPhone app; and Spencer Sweeney and Urs Fischer: Headz chronicles the temporary underground art making salons that Fischer and Sweeney have hosted together since 2017. A limited-edition poster produced by Fischer will also be available.

A new wallpaper print with vinyl motifs, designed by Fischer, will cover the entire shop interior throughout the takeover. Fischer has created wallpaper works since 2007, using them to create abstracted paint patterns and illusionistic reproductions of other interior spaces.
