This event has ended.

Jamea RIchmond-Edwards’ solo exhibition, Prom Night, opens at Kravets Wehby Gallery. The exhibition will explore the question: Why is prom such a significant rite-of-passage for Black America? Richmond-Edwards approaches this coming-of-age ritual as a timeless marker of blackness in the 21st century. Her use of cut-paper collage, fabric, rhinestones, glitter, ink, and paint portray her years in Detroit.
Recent exhibitions: Solo exhibition opening at the Rowan Museum on November 7th, Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, California African American Art Museum, The Katzen Museum, The David C. Driskell Center, and the Rubell Family Collection.
